Are you or your spouse considering a divorce? Are you in the middle of going through one right now? Or have you already completed the divorce process but just can’t seem to move forward with your life? What happens to you mentally and physically when your relationship is coming to an end can be absolutely paralyzing. Even if you’re lucky enough have a great support system of friends and family in place, you may feel completely alone.
I’m going to share with you the top 3 reasons why you need a Divorce Recovery Coach if you’re thinking of going through a divorce, or are in the middle or end of the process.
First, what is Divorce Recovery Coaching?
Divorce Recovery coaching is a bit like having your own personal hand-holder to walk you through the emotional roller coaster of this transformation process. Divorce Recovery Coaches help you begin to take forward steps when you’re feeling ‘stuck’, guide you the process of setting goals and creating action plans, and keep you moving forward while you get your bearings and avoid the pitfalls of the divorce process. A Divorce Recovery Coach can’t give you legal advice, but they will help you find the resources that will best serve your particular circumstances, and the coaching is very solution-focused.
When you’re going through the most difficult period of your life, a Divorce Recovery Coach is a necessity, not a luxury!
What are the top 3 reasons you need a Divorce Recovery Coach?
- A Divorce Recovery Coach will help you find clarity and confidence in the decisions you’re making during the process.
- A Divorce Recovery Coach will listen, then guide you through setting goals and planning for the future, especially when you’re feeling ‘stuck’.
- A Divorce Recovery Coach will hold you accountable and keep you on the path of moving forward, even when it feels too difficult and you want to say ‘I give up’.
If this is what you’re feeling now…
What will I do as YOUR Divorce Recovery Coach?
I will start by guiding you through the divorce process. I’ll help you find the answers you need that you’re not able to find on your own. I’ll help you get clear about the decisions that you need to make in your divorce and together, look at the options available. Perhaps you’d benefit from using a Collaborative Law Attorney. Perhaps the traditional court process is more appropriate for you. Perhaps you would benefit from Family Mediation.
I also spend time to ensure that you are investing in yourself, and what’s important to you right now. Are you taking care of yourself? Are you able to function at work, with your children, are you fulfilling your basic necessities such as eating, sleeping, and looking after your own wellness?
Are you being the best parent you can be? Are you concerned about your financial future? Are you holding onto bitterness and anger for others? Are you facing health concerns? Are you worried you’ll never be able to love or trust anyone again in the future? These are all areas we will walk through together.
You may not see anything positive about your divorce right now, but I promise that as soon as you can begin to take the steps to moving forward with your life, you will find the silver lining in this circumstance. Together we will imagine the life, love and future that you really want, and figure out what work is needed to get you to that life as soon as possible. You will reinvent your entire life, your hopes and dreams, your goals and discover a surprising faith in yourself and others.
And this is how you want to feel…
Who am I and why do I do this type of coaching?
I am Laurie Saunders, CPC, owner of Morphosis Mentor, and a Certified Professional Life Coach and Certified Divorce Recovery Coach.
I have spent the last 25 years coaching individuals in different settings and stages of their lives. I’ve had extensive experience working in executive and professional management and Human Relations, both in a traditional Healthcare practice for 15 years and in exploring holistic wellness alternatives. I studied Psychology and Business Management at Seminole State College in Orlando, Florida. I am a Certified Professional Life Coach by the Life Coaching Institute of Orange County. I am also a Certified Divorce Recovery Coach by the Impact Coaching Academy of Tampa, Florida.
I founded Morphosis Mentor to help others in many different areas of life coaching, but my real expertise and passion is specializing as a Divorce Recovery Coach, and I’ve completed extensive training hours and courses specific to this niche.
Not only am I a child of divorced parents myself, I have personally gone through the process after an 18 year marriage and 3 beautiful children. I appreciate the complexity of the process and the physical, emotional, and spiritual toll it takes on people and their families.
Even after going through my own personal experiences with divorce, I don’t tell my clients that I know what they are going through. I don’t.
You are unique. Your divorce is unique. I can’t possibly feel exactly what you’re feeling right now. But one thing I can do is be right there with you, unconditionally and without judgement, to guide you through your own personal healing journey.
What is A Path to Peace?
I developed a 12-week program called A Path to Peace to provide divorce recovery coaching for individuals who know that they need support to deal with the practical and emotional aspects of their divorce in order to make good decisions for their future.
Of course some divorces (and healing journeys) can take much longer than 12-weeks. However, this is a great foundational program to give you the tools you need to move forward on your own. We can always extend our sessions after the initial 12 weeks, or pick them back up at a later time when you may find yourself in need again. That is completely up to you. But you will find empowerment in knowing that you have the capability to put one foot in front of the other and start THRIVING instead of just surviving!
